The Health & Safety Supervisor will have full business leadership responsibility for the environment, health, and safety of the site. You will utilize your experience and expertise to lead and build a positive EHS culture, ensure compliance, solve problems, develop, and execute objectives for self and others
The position owns the process of deployment of EHS into the operational sites and will be involved in local training, audits, reporting and governance of the system. By leading a team, you will analyze, design and implement all Environment & Health Services structure and initiatives in total compliance with local and corporative regulations. You’ll be in charge of monitoring and securing all preventive and reactive protocols required by law.
What you’ll do:
Create and deploy EHS strategy aligned with corporate initiatives and local requirements. Leads the development of short and long-term EH&S objectives and recommends goals to management.
Analyze the regulatory compliance of its site and maintain it continuously.
Perform risk assessments for all HSE fields on the site and ensure regulatory compliance and effective implementation of HSE programs.
Ensure that safety tools, safety standards are adapted, known, understood, applied, and enforced by management.
Ensure adherence to Corporate requirements and effective interactions with Corporate support groups and compiles information to complete government reports and must submit reports to meet set deadlines.
Promotes workplace safety, and assists in the development, maintenance, and management of EH&S programs at the sites, including proactive incident and illness prevention, respiratory protection, contractor safety, and hazardous chemical management.
Build a strong EHS culture among employees and contractors.
Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.
Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.
Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
Determine appropriate leading and lagging indicators to track performance against targets and objectives.
What you’ll need:
Education: Engineer or similar background. Coursework and training in Occupational Safety and Health is strongly encouraged.
Professional experience: 5 year experience in HSE related positions leading teams
Language: English (conversational level)
Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies.
Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment.
Responds quickly to emergency situations while remaining calm during crisis.
