Specialist Data Analysis
Naucalpan de Juárez, México
AT&T connects more than 100 million people across North America every day. Our network infrastructure is one of the largest in the world, and behind it is a global technology organization solving problems at massive scale. Our Mexico City team will be a critical part of that engine—building the data platforms and financial systems that keep one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies running.
AT&T is seeking a Data Analysis Specialist based in Mexico City. In this role, you will join the Finance Commissions team and help modernize how AT&T calculates and pays sales compensation across our U.S. domestic operations. You’ll work at the intersection of finance and engineering—designing scalable data pipelines on the Databricks Lakehouse platform, integrating data from MongoDB, SQL Server, and Oracle via Trino, and replacing legacy ETL processes with clean, governed, production-grade solutions.
This isn’t a peripheral analytics role. Commissions data directly affects the paychecks of thousands of AT&T sales professionals. The accuracy, reliability, and performance of what you build matters—and you’ll see the impact immediately.
What You Will Do:
- Migrate and refactor legacy ETL processes from Java, Python, and SQL into Databricks using PySpark
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows using Databricks and Apache Iceberg
- Integrate data from MongoDB, SQL Server, and Oracle through Trino connectors
- Build and maintain data models optimized for analytics, reporting, and ML applications
- Implement data quality checks, validation, and automated anomaly detection to protect compensation accuracy
- Collaborate with business analysts, ML engineers, and BI developers to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Establish data lineage, documentation, and governance best practices across the platform
What You Will Need:
- Strong expertise in PySpark, Databricks, SQL, and data pipeline orchestration
- Experience integrating and transforming data from MongoDB, SQL Server, and Oracle—ideally via Trino
- Hands-on experience with Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake
- Proficiency with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
- Experience migrating legacy ETL workloads to modern data platforms
- Solid understanding of data modeling, partitioning, and performance optimization
- Familiarity with CI/CD for data workflows and version control (e.g., Git)
What You Will Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering roles
- Advanced conversational English is required. You’ll collaborate daily with U.S.-based stakeholders in finance and engineering.
- The role is based in Mexico City. No relocation is offered. This position is hybrid; you may be expected to go into the office 3 days per week.
